We’ve made a great start to our Spring term in Maths, using bar models, solving word problems and investigating various methods of answering questions involving all four operations.  On Wednesday, March 7th Class 5 took part in the Maths Wow day, investigating problem solving using our Maths boxes and using QR codes to solve a mystery.

During our English lessons we have been looking at the animated Pixar short film ‘Alma’ .The children created descriptive and imaginative paragraphs which concluded in a short story, independently written.

almaThis half term we will be looking at non-fiction writing genres, paying particular attention to non-chronological reports.  This will coincide with our History topic as children will write a report, focussing on King Henry VIII.

In addition to all of these fabulous things, Class 5 are currently studying ‘The Tudors’ and are fortunate enough to visit Bramhall Hall to live a day in the life of a Tudor. Children have completed projects to accompany this.

World Book Day was a success, with all of Class 5 coming as their favourite book characters.
