Does my child have to be Catholic to attend St James’ Catholic Primary School?

Though our admissions policy gives preference to baptised Catholics, all children are welcome, all we ask is that you respect our Catholic ethos.

Can my child make their First Holy Communion if they are not baptised?

If your child wishes to make their First Holy Communion they need to be baptised. Contact Fr Paul for more information.

Can my child make their First Holy Communion if they are baptised in another Christian tradition?

If your child is already baptised in another church they would need to be received into the Catholic Church before making their First Holy Communion. See Fr Paul for more details.

Will school administer medicines to my child?

We will administer medicines to children as long as it is handed in at the office and a medicines form is completed and signed.
