Forest School

Forest Schools 2Our Forest School day is Tuesday! Over the school year each class will get the chance to work with Andy, our Forest School Advisor. Forest School Activities take place on the back field, the school grounds and our section of the valley. The children work together and in small groups with Andy and their teacher and teaching assistant. They cover a range of outdoor skills including art and outdoor education activities. All of the activities have been fully risk assessed and will be delivered by the appropriate member of  staff.

When it is your child’s turn for Forest School they will need a set of “forest clothes” (tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a t shirt, jumper and a waterproof coat) with wellies, boots or old trainers. These clothes will get wet and dirty and may even get ripped so please don’t buy anything new!

Morning session children may come to school in their forest school clothes and bring their uniform to change into and afternoon children need to come in their uniform and bring their forest clothes with them.

AUTUMN TERM… Year 6 in the morning and Year 2 in the afternoon.

SPRING TERM…. Year 5 in the morning and Year 3 in the afternoon

SUMMER TERM… Year 4 in the morning and Year 1 or Reception in the afternoon

As our Forest School becomes more established we may be asking for volunteers to help with clearance and construction jobs or to help collect things like milk containers… Watch this space!

“What I like about Forest School is that you get to experience true nature and what God created before mankind started to destroy the world.” – Kaydon, Year 5
