Year 4 Autumn Term photographs

Week 1 – This week we took part in Skill Building Activities where we learned how to tie knots, Green Team Activities where we were exploring our environment for Brambles, and also had some Free Play and played some team games. Here are our pictures…

Week 2 – This week we took advantage of the lovely weather and took part in a cooking activity. We worked in two groups – one group made bread from scratch whilst the other group used peelers to peel willow to use to cook our bread, then we swapped over. We then each got to cook our bread over the fire in our fire circle. We also enjoyed free play, and making Journey Sticks today. Here are our pictures…

Week 3 – Today was extremely wet but we still enjoyed playing team games outside before we headed into The Ark. Once inside we enjoyed warm cordial and a biscuit followed by using our knotting skills to make a tripod stand using sticks as a practice for building shelters next week. Here are our pictures…

Week 4 – Today was another very wet day, so we split into two groups to complete our activities. We all took part in skill drill then one group went outside to make shelters whilst the other group stayed inside to learn about the water cycle and make forest school pendants. Here are our pictures…

Week 5 – We had a shorter session of forest school today. We played some team games and enjoyed having free play. Here are our pictures…

Week 6 – This week we started by playing Spiders and Flies, which we really enjoy, to get us warmed up. We then split into two groups. One group went down into the Valley with Andy and Mrs Collins whilst the other group went to pick some apples from Father Paul’s garden and then put them on the campfire with Sally and Mrs O’Flaherty. Here are our pictures…

Week 7 – We started today’s session by playing Mr Crocodile and Spiders and Flies. We then split into our two groups, which were the same as last week, but swapped activities over. One group went down into the Valley with Andy and Mrs Collins whilst the other group went to pick some apples from Father Paul’s garden and then put them on the campfire with Sally and Mrs O’Flaherty. Here are our pictures…

Week 8 – Today, we started by playing our favourite game, Spiders and Flies, then we learned a new game called Sticky Mole. We then had the task of working as a team to put up a shelter so we could enjoy our drinks and biscuits out of the rain and wind. We split into two groups again – one group did fire lighting with Andy whilst the other group did a Rubbish Hunt and made mobiles. Here are our pictures…

Week 9 – It was a wet and windy week this week and we got very muddy. We started by playing Flamingo Tig and Predator & Prey. We then helped Andy to put the shelter up again so we could have our hot chocolate and biscuit. We split into two groups for our activities which were fire lighting with Andy and Mrs O’Flaherty and free play and making mobiles with Sally and Mrs Collins. Here are our pictures…

Week 10 – This week we have been playing team games again and develop our skills further with Sally by making Elder Jewellery. We enjoys playing Duck Duck Goose and exploring The Green Team. Here are our pictures…

Week 11 – We had a busy week this week at Forest Schools. We started by playing Flamingo Tig then went on to play Duck Duck Goose and Spiders and Flies. We then split into four groups where we made our Advent Wreath with Mrs Collins and Mrs O’Flaherty, made axes with Andy, made Elder Jewellery with Sally and had Free Play. Here are our pictures…

Week 12 – This week was our final Forest School session for this academic year. We had a great session and the sun was shining. We played some our favourite games including Spiders and Flies and Famingo Tig then enjoyed making stars with Andy and Sally and also having Free Time. Here are our pictures…
