Year 4 Autumn Term 2

We are very excited to be starting our Forest School sessions. This year, we are being led by Mrs Snarr and we know that she has lots of exciting things planned for us to do over the next 7 weeks which fit in around our Science, DT and History topics for this half term. We hope you enjoy seeing what we have been doing each week.

Week 1 (04.11.2020) – This week we recapped the rules of Forest School and talked about how we need to keep ourselves and each other safe. We then enjoyed our afternoon playing games – Duck, Duck, Goose!, Spiders and Flies and Please Mr Crocodile – and decorating rocks to create a memorial for Remembrance Day at the front of school. Lot’s of fun had by everyone.¬†Here are our pictures…

Week 2 (11.11.2020) – We each took some time paying our respects in the Remembrance Garden where we thought about all of the people who have lost their lives in the many wars. We then split into two groups. One group played games with Mrs Collins whilst the other group made toast on the fire with Mrs Snarr. We had to make sure that we were safe when in the fire circle and working with the fire. It was a lovely afternoon. We hope you like our pictures from this week…

Week 3 (18.11.2020) – It was a very wet and windy afternoon today which meant that unfortunately we were unable to go outside for our Forest School session this week. Instead, Mrs O’Flaherty and Mrs Collins set us the challenge to work in small groups to create our ideal Forest School area. We had to think about what things we would like in there and why. Once we had drawn these on large paper, we had to stand up in front of the rest of the class and present our ideas. Luckily just before home time, the rain stopped and we managed to get outside for a couple of games. Here are our pictures…
